1. Introduction to the FCC

FCC American current probe manufacturer Fischer Custom Communications

The FCC is the United States Fischer Custom Communications, Inc. Abbreviation of the United States FCCIt mainly produces DC-6GHz radio frequency current probes. The FCC current probe is a product produced by the US FCC and authorized to be sold by Shenzhen EUTTEST in China. It is used for CE conduction emission and BCI current injection and current monitoring testing. The FCC Company is not the U.S. FCC Standards Commission, these are two different organizations. U.S. FCC produces current injection and monitoring probes、TEM cell for IC testing, Coupling and decoupling network CDN, ISN in line with CISPR22/32, single-phase and three-phase LISN and other equipment.

What is a current probe?

  • A current probe, also called a current clamp, is a current probe used in electromagnetic compatibility measurement and testing. The principle of current probe is based on the theoretical basis of Faraday's Law and Lenz's Law.
  • Current probes are generally used for closed-loop and open-loop testing of BCI automotive electronics high-current injection.
  • The US FCC has two types of current probes and injection pliers, including:

The principle of current probe?

①. When high-frequency current is injected, the current enters the PCB through the wire and affects the normal function of the PCB through conduction, capacitive coupling, etc. This is a limit point in the EMC test.

②. When the EUT cable is clamped for testing, the high-frequency current conducted by the PCB on the cable is coupled to the monitoring current probe, and then transmitted through the coaxial cable to the EMI test receiver to display the current spectrum map to evaluate whether the high-frequency interference released by the EUT during normal operation is within the limit range required by the standard..
