Introduction:
The FESP 5135 is an unshielded radiating ring antenna, one of the test equipment manufactured by Schwarzbeck (Germany) and distributed by EUTTEST, designed to generate magnetic fields in the frequency range up to 300 kHz, mainly for magnetic field immunity testing of large DUTs. The loop antenna is also equipped with a spacer for fixing the test distance, allowing the test to be carried out in a fixed position without having to take the test distance into account, thus achieving reproducible test results. The strength of the magnetic field generated by the coil is directly proportional to the coil current, so current measurement is used to determine the actual magnetic field strength.
Current measurement method to calibrate magnetic field strength:
The 5135 loop antenna produces a magnetic field strength proportional to the coil current, and with the Distance Positioning Accessory can be used to accurately distance the coil from the EUT surface of the DUT by up to 50 mm. Other Distance Positioning Accessories can be used to scale the current-to-field strength ratio. The highest field levels can be achieved using the shortest loop. Other distance positioning accessories are available on request from EUTTEST to provide a ratio between coil current and field strength (e.g. 1 amp coil current = 100 amps/meter field strength).
