The CGC-510E is a comb signal generator manufactured by compower. The main application is to be able to quickly validate LISN's conducted emission test program, and it can be plugged directly into LISN's EUT power socket.

Most EMI laboratories typically calibrate periodically in the emission test setups they performLISNand other equipment (spectrum analyzer(math.) genus(electric) cable(e.g., connectors, etc.). However, test equipment failures may occur between any calibration intervals and may not be detected until the next calibration. Also, these failures may produce erroneous conducted emission test results. Due to these unforeseen errors, wasted time and resources can be avoided with the help of comb signal generators. With the Comb Signal Generator, test engineers will be able to quickly verify the implemented measurement system before each test to ensure accurate test results. Other possible applications for the CGC-510E Comb Signal Generator may include production evaluation of components such as cable shielding and filter testing.
The CGC-510E outputs comb noise levels close to or above the CISPR 22 limit line. Typical output levels are shown below:
