BBV 9718 D Schwarzbeck 18GHz Broadband Preamplifier

Introduction：

The BBV 9718 D is a microwave band broadband preamplifier manufactured by Schwarzbeck, Germany and distributed by EUTTEST Shenzhen. The preamplifier is designed for radiometric emission RE testing in the frequency range 1 GHz-18 GHz in radio wave darkrooms to increase the sensitivity of field strength measurements and general attenuation measurements up to 18 GHz. Thanks to the built-in rechargeable battery, it can run for about 8 hours without power.

Installation Instructions:

The amplifier BBV 9718D has an SMA female connector on the input and is supplied with a 0.5 m long low loss coaxial microwave cable for linking to the antenna to be tested. The cable is supplied with a choice of N male and SMA male connectors.

As a rule, the amplifier should be mounted very close to the antenna and the amplifier housing is fitted with rubber pads for placing on a horizontal surface. In addition, the housing has a 22 mm hole for clamping the mounting tube of the Schwarzbeck antenna. The antenna mounting tube is usually mounted horizontally with the N female output of the amplifier facing the ground, which avoids the problem of accidental bending damage to the coaxial cable.

For practical testing the BBV 9718 D amplifier will be placed directly behind the antenna and EUTTEST can provide mounting brackets for the preamplifier and EMI antenna.
