Introduction:
The DC Block 500 is an isolation capacitor manufactured by Schwarzbeck, Germany. Many EMI measurement setups require decoupling the DUT of the device under test from the DC of the measurement device. RF measurement devices typically provide 50 Ω impedance and do not provide current isolation, so if DC is fed into the device, it can damage the measurement device. To prevent damage to the measurement device, a capacitor to isolate the DC is required, which should allow low or high frequency signals to pass through without attenuation. However, the measuring device should be prevented from flowing DC current through it.
